Holiday Hints

Please  examine  closely  any new toys you may give your pet.   Make  sure there are no parts that may become detached and ingested.

Fireworks are always in wide use during the holidays. If you have a pet that usually becomes terrified in these situations, check with your Veterinarian about picking-up a tranquilizer to avoid the pet's distress.

Tinsel and ribbons are frequently ingested by cats and dogs.  These can cause severe abdominal problems in these pets.  Please keep these out of their reach.

Giving puppies and kittens as Christmas gifts commits the recipient to years of dedication. Although it may not, then, be a surprise, it is best to first consult with them.

The Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter (736-6111) and  New Orleans  S.P.C.A. (944-7445) generally have dogs of all ages that desperately need homes.
