        Case of the Month

Meet "Lizzie;" she is an 8 month old, female calico owned by 9 year old Sarah Martin.  "Lizzie" was ready to be spayed, and she was scratching up some of the Martins' furniture.  They were considering having "Lizzie" declawed, but Sarah was afraid it would be cruel.  When they visited MSAH, we discussed the possibility of performing a tendonectomy with the Martins.  They were positive that they would be able to clip "Lizzie's" nails once a month, so it was decided that this was the best procedure for her.
