MSAH GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY
On Wednesday, March 6, 2002, construction of the new hospital officially began. Several of our clients, along with family and friends came out to help us celebrate the long-awaited occasion. Take a look at the photos taken during the ceremony!

PLEASE EXCUSE OUR MESS…
Many of you have probably noticed that construction of the new hospital has begun! We are all very happy and hope you share in our excitement. Of course, nothing comes without cost, and we've had to make a few changes in and around the current hospital to accommodate the on-going construction. We have given up one of our exam rooms and part of our waiting room. While these changes are bound to cause slight inconveniences for everyone, we hope you will be patient as we try to keep these to a minimum. We have begun to enclose the "patio" area in the front of the hospital, which will soon serve as an additional waiting area. There will be entrances on each side of this room--these will lead to the original entrance, which will be open as usual. Because the old parking lot is the site of the new hospital, we have moved the parking area to the front of the hospital (along Orpheum). Below is a diagram of available parking. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make the transition into the new hospital easier for you or your pet. We are trying very hard to keep all of our clients and patients comfortable and happy. Thank you all for your continued loyalty and support, especially during these times of change.

Pumpkin is a year old Airedale terrier that accidentally got out of the yard on February 20, 2002 and was hit by a car. She was brought to MSAH. On presentation she could not stand on her rear legs. The right lower leg was badly mangled and the left rear leg just seemed to dangle. Her respirations were rapid and her pulse was rapid and weak. She was immediately treated for shock, her flesh wounds were cleaned and bandaged and she was further stabilized through the night. The following day her vital signs were much improved. She was sedated and x-rayed. The degloving wound to the right rear leg was debrided and surgically repaired. The X-ray shows the extent of the damage to the rear end. The pelvis on the right side was basically mashed in. See picture No. 1.
