Blue is a beautiful blue Staffordshire Terrier and was found over a month ago. She has been checked by a vet, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Beaux is a senior basset who had been adopted from Looziana Basset Rescue many years ago. The owner decided that she could no longer keep him so we were more than happy to take him back. He is now in a foster home but still needs a permanent home. He is heartworm negative, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He loves people and other dogs. Children are not the only victims in a divorce. Animals are too. Molly is losing her home due to a divorce. She is about 7 years old. She is very sweet and friendly. She loves all people. Randy Louis needs a home. He is neutered, up-to-date with routine shots, and is house trained. Here is the letter that I received from his family: It is with a sad heart that we request your assistance in finding a good home for our 8 year old male basset hound Randy Louis. He has been a loyal companion for us since he was 8 weeks old. He has lived in a small condo, on 5 acres with two other dogs, and now with us at our house in downtown Covington as well as with our cat Zu Zu Petals and our 4 year old daughter. We find ourselves now again having to move but this time, there are no pets allowed. We have searched family and friends for someone we know who can take him but with no good news. So it is now that we ask for the help of those who know and love bassets as much as we have loved Randy. He is very, very sweet and affectionate. He is house trained and used to other dogs, cats, and kids. He is our first baby and we pray that this wonderful organization can help us to find him a new home where his owners will enjoy him as much as we have these past 8 years. Willow is a beautiful tricolored girl from the Laplace shelter. She is about 3 1/2 years old. She is heartworm negative and spayed. A dental has been done. She has been vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and needs an adoptive or foster home soon. She loves people and other dogs, however she Prefers a home without young children.  She loves car rides and is very happy. Our adoption fee is $275. We require that our dogs live indoors with access to a securely fenced yard. We check vet references and do home visits prior to an adoption. Hugh is one gorgeous Treeing Walker Coonhound. He is true to the breed - very sweet and like a gazelle. He was found wandering down a country road in the Northeast corner of LA with two pups in tow. Surgery to remove a small benign tumor on his eye has been done as well as a hernia repair. He is now in great shape, just focusing his efforts on gaining weight. Hugh is with a great foster family. He is vaccinated, wormed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Amelia is around 11 years old. She is originally from the Slidell, LA shelter. She had been used as a breeding basset and had her last litter of puppies a couple of months ago. We felt so sorry for her after hearing this that we immediately agreed to take her into rescue when the shelter asked us. She has now been spayed. She is heartworm positive and we have put her on Heartgard and doxycycline to try to slowly kill off the heartworms. She is too old for the regular immiticide treatment. She will be going into a foster home soon. She has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed.
