70th Anniversary Celebration Event

What: Our 70th Anniversary Celebration Event

When: Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 12-4pm

Where: Our Main Hospital at 101 Metairie Rd.

Metairie Small Animal Hospital is proud to announce its 70th Anniversary Celebration Event. Originally named “Metry Animal Hospital,” the practice was founded by Dr. Tom Melius in 1946 and moved to its present location at 101 Metairie Rd. in 1952. From small beginnings, we’ve grown into a large hospital with 24/7 emergency services, 4 out-patient clinics, 16 doctors and 80+ employees. To mark our milestone, we’re holding a celebration on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 12-4pm at the main hospital. Because you – our clients and your pets – are the reason we’re able to be here serving our community, we want to share our celebration with you.

We’re planning a fun-filled afternoon for everyone – adults, kids and pets! We’ll have free food and drink for the people, including beer and oysters from Drago’s Charbroiling Engine Co. fire truck, pizza from Theo’s Pizza Truck, cake and cookies. We’ll also have a Yappy Hour Bar just for our canine friends, complete with an MSAH bartender! Hill’s will even be here with information and food samples.

If activities are more your cup of tea, we’ve got you covered. We’ll have a face painter, kids’ crafts and games (with prizes!), a photo booth complete with props for pets and owners, free dog massages from our very own vet tech Becki, dog training demonstrations from Clever Canine Dog Training, and a pet costume contest that begins at 1PM – so break out your dog’s (or cat’s!) favorite costume. There’ll even be a DJ providing a soundtrack for the afternoon.

It wouldn’t be a party without prizes, right? We’ll have swag bags for the first 70 people to arrive – so don’t be late. We’ll also have raffles and a sale in the Silver Collar Boutique during the event. If you prefer furry friends to stuff, we’ll have rescue groups with adoptable pets waiting to meet you, too. Maybe you’ll meet the next (furry) love of your life!

We’ll have more details coming as we get closer to April 2, on our Facebook page. See you at the party!
