Our Treatment Area is one of the busiest parts of our hospital throughout the day. This room contains six separate treatment tables, each supplied with oxygen from our centralized oxygen system. Each morning all hospitalized and boarding patients are seen by our doctors in this room. This area is also where our technicians perform all pre-anesthetic work-ups and where patients are prepped for surgery.

Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is staffed 24 hours a day by our technicians. We have larger runs for dogs as well as cages for smaller animals.
Several of our cages are equipped with oxygen and heat, should the need arise. This area also contains a Whirlpool Bath in which we can perform hydrotherapy on patients with muscle trauma, arthritis and those that have undergone back surgeries.

Our new hospital contains a state of the art surgical suite, which allows us to handle up to four surgeries at one time. We have a new oxygen system, which distributes oxygen to different areas of the hospital, including surgery, from one centralized location. We have modern monitoring systems in addition to an assistant assigned to each surgical case to monitor the patient before, during and after surgery. All support staff members involved in the surgery wear a cap, mask, booties and sterile gown during the procedure to decrease the possibility of contamination.
In addition to our General Surgery room, we also have a Special Surgery room equipped to handle one surgery at a time. Most often this room is used for orthopedic surgeries, open thoracic surgeries and eye surgeries. This room is equipped with the same monitoring and oxygen systems.

Our Pack and Prep area, located between the two surgery rooms, allows for easy access to all necessary surgical supplies and materials. In this area, doctors and staff ready themselves for surgery and gather all necessary equipment. This area is also equipped with pass through windows into each surgery room so that doctors and staff need not exit the surgery area to gain additional materials.

Our Special Procedures Room is where our doctors perform Endoscopy, Ultrasound, Echocardiograms, EKG's, ERG's and many other tests and procedures. This room is equipped with centralized oxygen and an anesthetic scavenging system.

Using this equipment, we are able to quicken the process of diagnosing problems such as fractures, heart and lung problems and bladder stones. In addition, we are able to perform advanced radiological procedures including myelograms and barium series.

Our Dental Suite is where we perform all of our dental services including teeth cleaning and polishing, complete oral exams and extractions as needed. This area is also equipped with access to the centralized oxygen system.
In addition to our regular dental services we are happy to offer Dental Radiology which can help identify problem areas in the teeth and jaw. The x-rays taken can be developed by a technician within minutes.

Our In-house Lab is staffed by Dr. Jack Austen, PhD. Here he performs a wide variety of diagnostic testing including hematology, serum profiling, cytology and much more. Our lab is stocked with state of the art diagnostic equipment, which minimizes our need for outside laboratories-allowing us to get results much more quickly. Should the need arise, we do maintain relationships with outside labs who perform less common diagnostic tests.

Animals that may harbor contagious diseases are housed in our Isolation Area. It is equipped so that animals can be treated and cared for within the area. This reduces any chances of further contamination, yet allows the patients to be treated in a clean and comfortable environment.

In addition, individual HydroSurge dryers can be attached to individual compartments, insuring that pets are dried evenly and comfortably prior to their pick up time. The grooming area is accented with windows overlooking The Silver Collar Pet Boutique, allowing our patrons to view animals as they're being pampered.

Our Dog Boarding Area consists of 10 boarding rooms each containing different size compartments to ensure animals are placed in areas appropriate for their size. Each compartment has an elevated bench on which pets can rest and is surrounded by acrylic windows to alleviate the feeling of being caged in.

Each boarding room contains a timed ventilation system as well as a state of the art drainage system that is equipped with a flushing drain that is automatically resealed after each use, eliminating odors almost entirely. Each room is also equipped with the Auto-Chlor cleaning system, also found in human hospitals, to completely sanitize all areas prior to placing animals.
| << Previous | Next >> |
All boarding patients are seen by a doctor at least once daily and are continually monitored by our assistants and technicians who remain on site 24 hours a day. All dogs are also walked a minimum of three times daily in our Walking and Exercise Area.
| << Previous | Next >> |
Our Boarding Cat Area was designed to be completely independent from the Boarding Dog Area. Windows line the room, offering our patients comfort during their stay. Two bird feeders are also stationed just outside the windows to give our guests a little entertainment.

Our general boarding compartments offer a quiet area for cats to relax while they visit with us. We also have Kitty Condos that are larger than our general boarding compartments. Each of these contains a shelf on which cats can rest or play. With the condos, you also have the option of reserving more than one compartment, which allows your cat to visit more than one room.
