Dr. Rene Baumer is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He was born and raised in Lakeview and graduated from Jesuit High School. After high school, Dr. Rene completed his undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University. He then attended LSU School of Veterinary Medicine where he obtained his degree. He started working at MSAH when he was 18 years old.

While he has always had a passion for Veterinary Medicine, his main focus is Orthopedics and Soft Tissue Surgery. Dr. Rene is a member of the Southeast Louisiana Veterinary Association, Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

He currently resides in the Lakeview area of New Orleans with his wife Dana, their son Max, and their four dogs. Dr. Rene can be found coaching little league baseball and flag football.
